About the transplantation

About the stem cell transplantation:
Stem cells are those cells possessing the capacity of transforming themselves into highly specialized cells, which can then regenerate any damaged tissue or organ.
Through the operation that I determined to undergo, I will be treated with proper adult stem cells.
The treatment consists of three phases: collecting bone marrow, processing it in a laboratory and implanting stem cells.
Bone marrow is collected from the iliac crest (the pelvic area) with a thin mini-pin, all this procedure lasts for about 30 minutes. On the second day, stem cells are processed from bone marrow in a special laboratory approved by the government, then the quality and quantity of the stem cells is tested. On the third day, a quantity of cephalorachidian liquid is extracted, mixed with the stem cells, and this mixture will be implanted to me through stereotactic surgery. This is the most precise method, which detects the exact area where my marrow is injured, which increases the chances of success for the operation.
Clinical improvements were reported to 56,8% of the patients, a percentage that means a lot to me, considering that without this intervention, my chances of recovery are near 1 in a million, and the results obtained after these transplantations are the increase in muscular force, the decrease in spasticity and muscular pain, balance in movement, regaining the cold/warm perception and physiological functions.
